Well, another season is upon us. The cooler weather and training runs are creating a synergy and excitement among the kennel. September in Central Wyoming only brings a couple cool mornings a week to embark on fall training, so we don't take this time of year too seriously. This is mostly a good time for us to harness break pups, refresh the memories of young dogs harness broke the previous spring, and a time to "try-out" the dogs acquired over the off season.

One thing we have learned over the last few years is that we, "weekend/family-mushers," must evolve a dog team over time. Every year, including the very first, we think we have the best dog-teams in the world. It only takes a couple races (or in some cases, the first race) to humble the enthusiasm of triumph. This race season will prove to be an apprehensive one since we have replaced most of the previous years racing teams with yearlings and new dogs from other kennels. The race season itself will likely be an extension of preparation of young, green dogs for their future in racing.

Another thing we have learned these last few years is that we LOVE this sport. We have made many good friends and appreciate the time we get to spend with you all at the races. We love working with the dogs and working together as a family. We feel very fortunate to have something so unique to share with our kids and friends.

So good luck to all of you who are hitting the trails this year!
